The glamorous New York period
1941 - 1952

In 1941, René and Evelyn left Montreal for New York City. They easily found work as fashion illustrators for Lord and Taylor on Fifth Avenue.

René quickly made it to the top and became a star. The pure lines, elegance and exquisite style of René's illustrations, were his trademark.

His fashion drawings appeared daily in The New York Times.

By the age of 30, René was living the high life in a sumptuous apartment in Manhattan's Eastside.
